Java Software Engineer

• You are a Java Developer with around 5 years of experience building and maintaining applications that people rely on.
• You know Java 8/17+ and understand how to structure applications for maintainability, performance, and clarity.
• You are comfortable working across the full lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• You take ownership of your work, pay attention to details, and enjoy supporting your team.

🚀 Then what?

• You will join a small Agile team developing and maintaining core applications.
• Your work will include implementing new features, improving architecture, and updating older systems to modern Java versions. Your contributions will directly affect how smoothly the applications run and how effectively the team delivers.

📍This role is hybrid, with on-site presence required in Bucharest, Romania (3 days per week).

📌 Your mission

• Develop and maintain Java applications, including migration from Java 8/17+
• Take features through design, development, testing, release, and support
• Review code and suggest improvements
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and QA to define solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve architecture and automate repetitive tasks
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code
• Stay up to date with Java technologies
• Share knowledge and support your team

⚙️ Your toolbox

Technical Skills

• Java 8/17+, Java Swing and Hibernate 5+
• JUnit and Cucumber for testing
• Build systems: Gradle, Ant
• Database: PostgreSQL 8+
• Scripting: Python or Bash
• Git and GitLab, including pipelines

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAFe, Jira, or Confluence

General Skills

• Familiar with Agile/SCRUM
• Analytical and practical thinker
• Independent, communicative, and organized
• Fluent in English
