The Opportunity:
We're looking for an experienced, people-first Engineering Manager to lead one or more engineering teams at Bamboo Card. You'll own team delivery, health, and growth, sitting at the intersection of people leadership, agile execution, and technical credibility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on removing blockers, building reliable delivery rhythms, and genuinely investing in their team.
What You'll Own:
People & Team Health
- Run regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and career growth plans
- Build a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Lead bi-annual review cycles and support team onboarding and retention
Delivery & Execution
- Drive end-to-end planning and execution of features, epics, and milestones
- Partner with Product Managers on sprint goals, timelines, and priorities
- Lead grooming, planning, retrospectives, and delivery follow-ups
Planning & Reporting
- Define quarterly and annual engineering goals with the CTO and Product
- Own delivery, quality, and team performance KPIs
- Provide clear, proactive status reports and risk forecasts to leadership
Technical Involvement
- Collaborate with Technical Leads on design decisions and roadmaps
- Stay technically informed enough to guide conversations and unblock teams
- Participate in code reviews, incident analysis, and performance reviews as needed
Support Ownership
- Own and coordinate resolution of engineering support tickets by severity
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive long-term fixes to reduce recurring issues
Remote Workforce Oversight
- Manage timesheets and working hours for distributed team members
- Keep remote teams aligned, engaged, and accountable
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years in engineering management or equivalent leadership role
- Strong technical background in .NET Core, microservices, and event-driven architecture
- Solid knowledge of AWS, cost management, monitoring, and security
- Proven experience with agile delivery, sprint planning, and execution tracking
- Experience managing remote/distributed engineering teams
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder reporting skills
- A genuine people-first mindset with a track record of growing engineers
