User Interface Designer

About the Role

We are hiring a UI Designer on behalf of a leading Government Digital Authority in the UAE, driving the next generation of citizen-facing digital services. This role is based on-site at the Ras Al Khaimah HQ and reports directly to the Head of UX/UI.

The successful candidate will balance hands-on UI design with project-level ownership — leading interface design across web, mobile, and kiosk platforms while mentoring junior designers and contributing to a centralized design system.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent user interfaces for digital government services
• Apply and maintain the centralized design system across all ongoing projects
• Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards and bilingual (Arabic/English) design requirements
• Review and approve design deliverables before final submission
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation
• Support usability testing and research activities; use analytics and user feedback to iterate designs
• Partner with Product Managers, CX, and Service Design teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences
• Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to junior UX/UI designers
• Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and methodologies
• Propose enhancements to the design system and overall design processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• 4+ years of UX/UI design experience in digital products or government services
• Hands-on expertise in design systems, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
• Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent design tools
• Prior experience leading small design teams or acting as a project-level design lead
• Exposure to Agile delivery environments
• Excellent written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Agile, Design Thinking, or UX/UI methodologies
• Experience designing for government, public sector, or large-scale citizen platforms
• Familiarity with Arabic-language interfaces and RTL (Right-to-Left) design
