We’re looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer (Contractor) to join the client's Content Platform team.
In this role, you’ll focus on migrating legacy Python services from legacy Python monoliths to modern Golang services owned by various Product teams. Experience with Python and Golang is a must. You'll use internal tools and processes developed by the Content Platform team to accelerate our migration from Python to Go. We're seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at solving complex problems, and collaborates effortlessly across teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Migrate and refactor existing Python logic into Golang services owned by various other teams.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to internal tools, systems, and processes to speed up migration.
- Collaborate closely with engineers across teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Debug complex issues quickly and provide clear, actionable solutions.
- Maintain high-quality, well-tested code with thorough validation.
- Identify and implement improvements in our migration tooling.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, ideally in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong expertise in Golang and Python.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to pick up unfamiliar tools or systems quickly.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively in distributed teams.
