Job Description
The Business Analyst/Assistant Manager role is part of the Analytics, Investment Optimization and Marketing Enablement (AIM) team within the Global Commercial Services (GCS) Marketing group at American Express. Based in Gurugram, this team serves as the analytical engine supporting the Global Commercial Card & Non-Card business.
The role focuses on marketing analytics, including portfolio analysis, campaign measurement, and optimization. It involves close collaboration with GCS Marketing teams to analyze customer behavior, evaluate marketing performance, and provide data-driven insights. The position requires strong analytical expertise, commercial card product understanding, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, global environment.

Responsibilities
- Support business partners with campaign measurement, ROI analysis, and actionable data-driven insights.
- Conduct portfolio analytics to identify trends, composition, leading indicators, and future outlook.
- Provide analytical solutions to GCS Marketing partners to evaluate and improve business performance.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly reporting for marketing leadership.
- Build marketing tracking dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze customer behavior and assess the impact of marketing treatments.
- Collaborate across teams, stakeholders, and geographies to drive alignment and results.
- Identify opportunities, define success metrics, and resolve business challenges.
- Drive automation and continuously refine analytical frameworks.
- Challenge the status quo and generate innovative insights and business opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics).
- Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to translate data into business insights.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (mandatory).
- Experience with Big Data tools and BI platforms like Power BI or Tableau (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across teams and geographies.
