Location: Remote (occasional travel to client sites)

Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35)

Clearance: Eligible for SC clearance (essential)

Experience: Public sector experience required

Overview

We’re working with a leading consultancy supporting a public sector client undergoing a major digital and cyber transformation programme.

As part of this, they’re looking to bring on an experienced Network Engineer to support the design, delivery, and optimisation of secure, scalable network environments across a complex estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support secure network infrastructure
• Work across both cloud and on-prem environments in a hybrid estate
• Ensure network performance, availability, and resilience across critical services
• Support the delivery of modern network security capabilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across environments
• Collaborate with wider engineering, security, and platform teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement and modernisation initiatives

Key Experience Required

• Strong background in enterprise network engineering
• Experience working across secure / regulated environments
• Understanding of modern networking and security principles
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted infrastructure (AWS, Azure or similar)
• Ability to operate in complex, large-scale environments
• Proven public sector / government experience

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to network security tooling and secure access solutions
• Experience supporting transformation programmes / cloud migrations
• Familiarity with automation or infrastructure-as-code approaches
