Role Overview
Nexxis is Barco’s platform dedicated to revolutionizing the digital operating room. It connects surgical teams, medical devices, and imaging systems into one integrated ecosystem, helping clinicians collaborate more efficiently and make better decisions during procedures. Our platform is evolving from traditional AVoIP switching into a next-generation, application-driven orchestration system, where smart surgical displays, devices, and software work seamlessly together.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help shape the future of the Nexxis platform by designing and building scalable, application-centric systems for the digital operating room. You will play a key role in evolving architecture, improving engineering practices, and delivering features that directly enhance how surgical teams operate.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent) with 6+ years in software engineering
- Clear communicator, collaborative, and strong problem solver; comfortable shaping technical direction through hands-on delivery
- Habit of continuous learning: quickly dives into and masters diverse frameworks, languages, and tools beyond the stacks above; selects technology pragmatically for the problem at hand and actively shares learnings
- Interest in developing software under medical-device standards (for example, IEC 62304/ISO 13485 principles with risk-aware documentation and traceability)
- Experience with Scrum/Agile development practices (backlog refinement, sprint reviews, iterative delivery, and team retrospectives)
