Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Forte Group is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of frontend quality strategy for a complex enterprise product. You’ll join an engineering team where quality is already deeply embedded in the development culture: the backend engineers maintain strong standards around unit testing and TDD. Your mission will be to own the end-to-end user experience by building robust automation for the Vue.js and Tailwind-based web applications.

Key Responsibilities

UI Automation & Framework Design

• Architecture: Design and maintain a scalable, modular automation framework specifically optimized for Vue.js and Tailwind applications.
• Scripting: Develop and execute high-quality automated UI and functional tests, focusing on critical user paths and regression suites.
• Maintenance: Proactively refactor outdated scripts and update tests as the UI evolves to minimize "flaky" test cases.

Systems Integration & Mocking

• Integration Testing: Develop strategies to test complex enterprise systems integrations, ensuring data flows correctly between siloed AEC applications.
• Mocking & Simulation: Implement advanced mocking techniques to simulate back-end responses and third-party API behavior, allowing for isolated front-end testing.
• API Validation: Validate API capabilities (GET/PUT/POST/DELETE) and verify that endpoint fields align with front-end data requirements.

Strategic Quality Leadership

• Test Planning: Author comprehensive test plans and determine the optimal balance between manual exploratory testing and automated execution.
• CI/CD Integration: Partner with DevOps to integrate automated suites into GitHub Actions pipelines, enabling "shift-left" testing practices.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects in Jira, providing clear steps to reproduce and collaborating with developers on root-cause analysis.

Test Execution & Team Mandates

• Explicitly define the boundary between automated and manual testing in comprehensive test plans.
• Demonstrate the ability to set up and maintain the UI, functional, and regression test suite.
• Ensure clear and constant in-sprint communication with development teams is maintained.
• Conduct diverse test types, including black box testing, smoke testing, exploratory testing, and regression testing.
• Proactively identify heuristics of client data (good, bad, exploitative) to build effective test coverage.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years in a QA Automation role, with a proven track record in web application testing

Technical Stack

• Frameworks: Mastery of Playwright or Cypress for UI automation.
• Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Front-End: Solid understanding of modern web technologies, specifically Vue.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Back-End/Data: Strong SQL expertise for data validation and backend debugging.
• Tools: Experience with Git, Jira, Postman, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)

• Analytical Rigor: Good documentation skills and an analytical mindset to catch edge cases in complex AEC workflows.
• Collaboration: A true team player who can clarify requirements with Product Managers and provide a feedback loop on undocumented enhancements.
• Communication: Ability to translate technical defects into business impact for stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with Autodesk SDKs (Revit, Civil 3D) or AEC-specific data heuristics
• Exposure to performance testing, load scenario automation, or security testing
• Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools or Model Context Protocol (MCP) interactions
