Who We Are
The Executive Government Security Section within PM&C plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Australian Executive Government.
The Technical Security Team provides daily support to Executive Government, as well as implements bespoke solutions to support the security requirements of the Prime Minister and broader Cabinet operations.
What You Will Do
The Technical Security Team is based out of the Parliament House Briefing Room and daily duties involve supporting the smooth running of the room. This includes operating communications equipment and supporting the broader security requirements of the room.
Team members are also responsible for the provision of bespoke technical security solutions to allow Cabinet and the office of the Prime Minister with real-time access to information and communications systems.
Successful applicants will be required to accompany official travelling parties overseas and domestically to ensure information security and secure communications support is available. Staff are also required to undertake ad-hoc after-hours work and participate in an on-call roster.
Due to the sensitivity of the role, successful applicants must hold, or be able to obtain, a Top Secret (Privileged Access) security clearance.
A merit pool will be established and used to fill the same or similar vacancies for 18 months from the date of advertising.

Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999 , employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing. At PM&C to be eligible for this position you should be an Australian Citizen by the completion of the recruitment process , except under exceptional circumstances.
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
- The successful candidate will be assessed through our pre-employment screening checks, such as an Australian Criminal History Check, and will normally be subject to a six-month probation period if new to the APS or has not yet completed their probation period elsewhere in the APS.
