Full Stack Developer

We are looking for someone who wants to:

• be apart of a small team (less than 15)
• has initiative and loves taking part in the decision-making process, working hand in hand with the product team as they help bringing a feature to life
• uses AI extensively but knows the limitations

Communities.Tech is a small Texas-based team building and scaling web products that streamline hiring workflows in the construction industry. You’ll work end-to-end across full stack devs, Project/Product, and QA.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship features across the stack using React/Next.js (TypeScript) and Node.js/Express

• Design and implement REST APIs, integrations, and realtime features (Socket.IO where needed)

• Work with PostgreSQL for data modeling and query performance

• Build/maintain background jobs and workflows using Redis + BullMQ

• Support search/indexing use cases with Elasticsearch

• Write tests, participate in code review, and improve reliability/performance across the platform

• Collaborate closely with Product/Design to turn requirements into scalable solutions

Tech Stack

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js, MUI, PrimeReact/PrimeFlex, Sanity, Stripe, Playwright

Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ, Elasticsearch

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years building production web applications
• Someone who uses Claude Code, Codex, OhMyPi, etc but knows limitations
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript
• Backend experience with Node.js/Express
• Comfortable with REST, JWT/token-based auth, and API integrations
• Solid understanding of relational data concepts (PostgreSQL)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

Nice to Have

• Next.js performance/SSR/App Router experience

• Elasticsearch, queues/background jobs, Stripe or S3 integrations

• Experience with design systems and component libraries (MUI / PrimeReact)
