Bookkeeper

Our client in Cork city is looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex challenges. You’ll work alongside passionate professionals, build meaningful client relationships, and deliver insights that help businesses grow. This role goes far beyond data entry — it’s about understanding clients, improving systems, and contributing to a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality bookkeeping services, including bank and control account reconciliations, VAT return preparation, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple clients.
• Enhance and correct client bookkeeping systems, using tools such as Dext and other digital apps to improve efficiency and streamline workflows.
• Manage workload effectively, planning and organising your time to maximise productivity while upholding the firm’s standards, policies, and professional ethics.
• Provide excellent client service, communicating clearly, drafting commercially appropriate correspondence, and consistently earning strong feedback from clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, Big Red Book, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Familiarity with core accounting apps, especially Dext
• Strong Excel, Word, and email skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High attention to detail and strong organisational habits
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• A solutions-driven mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development
