About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI/ML solutions with a strong focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. This role will involve building scalable pipelines for information extraction, transformation, validation, and integration into downstream systems.

The successful candidate will combine expertise in machine learning, statistical modelling, and modern GenAI techniques to solve complex data challenges across structured and unstructured datasets.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy production-quality AI/ML solutions using:

• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Traditional machine learning techniques
• Statistical methods
• Deterministic approaches

Apply modern GenAI methodologies to solve complex problems involving:

• Information extraction
• Data interpretation and transformation
• Reasoning across complex datasets

Develop robust end-to-end pipelines for:

• Data preparation
• Model execution
• Output validation
• Integration into downstream systems

Evaluate and continuously improve model performance, reliability, and accuracy through:

• Quantitative evaluation
• Testing and regression analysis
• Error analysis and iterative refinement

Collaborate closely with Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics Engineering teams to operationalise and support solutions within production environments.

The Person:

5+ years’ experience in:

• Data analysis
• Statistical modelling
• Machine learning

Strong programming skills in:

• Python
• SQL

Proven track record delivering production-grade:

• Data science solutions
• Machine learning models
• AI-driven applications

Hands-on experience designing and implementing LLM/GenAI solutions, including:

• Retrieval workflows
• Context selection
• Extraction and validation pipelines
• Iterative refinement processes
• Hybrid deterministic and ML-based approaches

Experience defining:

• Evaluation datasets
• Performance metrics for extraction tasks
• Regression testing frameworks to prevent quality degradation

Experience working with:

• Structured data
• Semi-structured data
• Unstructured data
• Strong systems-thinking mindset with excellent technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within technical delivery teams.

• Preferred Experience

Advanced degree in:

• Computer Science
• Statistics
• Applied Mathematics
• Physics
• Data Science (Or a related technical discipline)

Experience building document extraction/document understanding solutions from PDFs, including:

• Table extraction
• Inconsistent document formats
• Noisy OCR text handling

Demonstrated ability to assess emerging AI/LLM methodologies and apply them pragmatically to real-world business problems.

Remuneration Package
