Junior Security Analyst

Description

We are looking for two Junior Security Analysts to join our Telecommunications Security Team. The ideal candidates will have a background in telecommunications and network security, with a strong security generalist skill set. This team is responsible for securing the company's telecommunications networks, including private LTE, fiber optic, microwave, and satellite networks.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Analysis:

Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential threats or breaches.

Analyze security logs, reports, and dashboards to detect anomalies and vulnerabilities.

Incident Response

Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and mitigating impacts.

Document and report on security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation steps.

Risk Assessment

Conduct regular risk and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks.

Recommend and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.

Security Policies And Procedures

Develop, update, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.

Security Awareness Training

Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees.

Create and distribute educational materials on security topics.

Collaboration

Work closely with Southern Linc, Telecom Services, Southern Telecom Inc., and other departments.

Coordinate with external vendors and partners on security-related matters.

Security Tools And Technologies

Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.

Stay up-to-date with the latest security technologies and recommend new tools and practices.

Compliance And Audit

Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and frameworks.

Participate in internal and external security audits and assessments.

Documentation And Reporting

Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, procedures, and configurations.

Generate regular reports on security posture, incidents, and trends for management review.

Continuous Improvement

Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve the organization's security posture.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in telecommunications and network security.

Experience with security tools and technologies such as Palo Alto, Crowdstrike, Broadcom, and Arista.

Generalist with a wide range of network security responsibilities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00
