Mechanical Design Engineer

For our client, a stable and internationally established manufacturing company, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f).

We welcome applications from candidates with a completed degree in mechanical engineering, as well as experience in 3D modelling and technical documentation preparation. Both experienced professionals and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply. Experienced candidates also have the opportunity for advancement to a Lead Engineer position.

Job Description

• 3D modelling of products and preparation of technical documentation using CATIA or Siemens NX
• Design and development of products based on customer requirements – from concept and initial design through to prototype and serial production
• Participation in the development of products made from thermoplastics, thermosets or elastomers
• Material selection and analysis based on product functionality and load requirements
• Communication with development engineers from the automotive industry (OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers)
• Preparation of input data for numerical simulations and functional testing
• Participation in evaluation of analysis and test results
• Collaboration in project teams and development of technical solutions

Requirements

• Completed higher education (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree) in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in designing products made of thermoplastic materials is an advantage
• Experience in high-volume production product development
• Strong knowledge of CATIA; experience with Siemens NX is a plus
• Active English language skills; German is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with FEM analysis (CATIA or ABAQUS) and polymer flow analysis is an advantage
• Structured, organised and responsible working style with a solution-oriented mindset
• Willingness to learn, innovation mindset and ability to work in project teams
