Project Manager

A leading Irish construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects across Cork and surrounding regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional with strong technical and commercial expertise to join a well-established business delivering high-profile projects across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for project delivery from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of construction projects from inception to handover
• Develop and manage project programmes, sequencing strategies, and site logistics plans
• Coordinate closely with design consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of information and resolution of technical issues
• Chair project coordination and progress meetings with key stakeholders
• Monitor project performance through reporting, risk management, and programme tracking
• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and in line with specifications
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, building regulations, and industry best practices
• Work collaboratively with commercial teams on budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and cost management
• Support subcontractor procurement, package negotiation, and tender evaluations
• Maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety across all project activities
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Provide regular progress updates and performance reporting to senior management
• Lead and mentor site teams, engineers, and project staff to drive high performance and successful project outcomes

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role with a main contractor
• Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects
• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of modern construction methods, Irish building regulations, BCAR, and Health & Safety legislation
• Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and contracts
• Proficiency with project management and construction software platforms
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
