AI Application Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated AI Application Engineer to join our team and take ML models from prototype to production, training, building the services that serve them, and packaging them for reliable deployment in the cloud and on edge devices.

The role is hands-on, with opportunities to influence our technology roadmap and grow across both ML and platform engineering. It suits an engineer with solid fundamentals who is eager to deepen their craft.

Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate multimodal ML models.
• Build and optimize production inference pipelines for cloud environments and resource-constrained edge devices.
• Develop backend services that expose models to real traffic, including real-time streaming (RTP/WebRTC).
• Design and own data pipelines and database schemas (Postgres/Supabase, SQLite), including authentication and data policies.
• Package and ship cross-platform Docker images for edge deployment, including release tooling.
• Convert research prototypes into maintainable, scalable product-grade code.
• Drive automation, testing, and engineering quality across ML workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (master’s degree preferred) in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in ML or applied AI roles.
• Strong proficiency with Python and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, ONNX.
• ML literacy: comfortable training, fine-tuning, and evaluating models, with understanding of transformers and multimodal architectures.
• Experience building backend services with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Comfortable with databases — schema design, queries, auth, and data flow.
• Experience with Docker, Git, GitLab CI/CD, and reproducible workflows.
• Experience deploying ML models in cloud environments and on edge devices (ARM, GPU, NPU) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with real-time media (RTP/WebRTC), observability stacks, or frontend (React/TypeScript) is a plus.
• Curiosity about agentic frameworks and AI-assisted development tooling.
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable owning projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English. French or German a plus.
