UI/UX Designer [Junior]

Job Brief

We are hiring UI/UX Designer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This position combines the best features of both a start-up and an established corporation. You’ll be working with a team in a fast-paced environment to participate in the development of our design system. The UI/UX designer will research, design, and iterate upon designs. Responsibilities

• Contribute to and assist in maintaining a Design System containing elements, components, and patterns to support enterprise-scale products
• Perform user research to understand the unmet needs of our customers and stakeholders
• Create wireframes to facilitate rapid design iteration based on review and feedback
• Prototype new interfaces using Figma
• Plan and execute usability testing for features and enhancements; analyse results and work with the team to prioritize issues
• Review the user experience of applications built by developers using the design system and provide recommendations for improvement
• Develop user personas that will be used to guide the design process
• Follow best practices and work in an Agile environment
• Have a proactive approach to improving the design system with every sprint
• Work with software engineers to implement an intuitive user experience
• Work with team members to coordinate the development of new features
• Understand the overall application feature set and goals
• Work with software development team members to design and distribute assets
• Support design needs of the software development team
• Assist in the documentation process
• Create and design end-of-program presentation to be given to management
• Organize and catalog all design assets
• Participate in the brainstorming and creation of design concepts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with UI and UX design
• Experience with: Accessibility standards, UI component design, Designing vector graphics, Icon creation/management, UI/UX software ie: Balsamiq, Figma, InVision, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, etc., Designing for either web or mobile based applications
• Strong layout and typography skills
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy and its importance in UI/UX design
• Good understanding of color theory
• Solid knowledge of the creative process, including typical time and resources needed to produce work on time, at high quality, and to specification
• Problem solver that requires very little guidance on projects; thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivation to complete tasks independently
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
• Ability to identify and leverage the various skillsets of team members to more effectively approach tasks
• Currently enrolled in an accredited 4 year university/college program in computer science, software engineering, or related engineering degree and returning to the program upon completion of the internship.
