Our team is responsible for delivering a quality gaming experience allowing the users to play their Android and native games across form factors.
In this role, you will manage cross-system integration and performance tests across the operating system (e.g., input, graphics, audio, etc.). You will help the small team move at a pace to hit deadlines.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with android systems and applications, with managing issues and research across Android.
- Experience with Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-level programming.
- 8 years of experience with android systems and applications, with managing issues and research across Android.
- Experience with mobile and desktop gaming.
- Ability to build performant, and secure systems.
- Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement features to ensure a performant, reliable multi-platform gameplay experience to delight the users.
- Write and review code, design docs, and test plans to ensure quality work.
- Partner with product management, program management, and User Experience (UX) to solve problems and deliver business impact.
- Solve problems that balance technical considerations (e.g., maintainability, scalability, reliability, availability, efficiency, security) with business/product requirements.
- Work on software development, deployment and production practices.
