A global OEM in mining, construction, and industrial technology is seeking a mid-level DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing Technology Operations team supporting enterprise-scale digital platforms and cloud-native applications.


This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the redevelopment of a market-leading product used across the mining and construction industries, with a strong focus on autonomous and semi-autonomous systems, geospatial technologies, and emerging AI-driven capabilities. Working within a large-scale, mission-critical environment, you’ll help shape modern platforms powered by AWS, microservices, containerisation, and automation technologies.


In this role, you will design, implement, and optimise secure, scalable, and highly automated operational solutions that enhance reliability, compliance, deployment efficiency, and overall platform performance across the software development lifecycle. You’ll collaborate closely with Agile delivery teams across Australia and overseas, alongside developers, platform engineers, and enterprise stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and advancing DevOps maturity across the organisation.


This position plays a key role in the delivery and ongoing operations of a significant, complex next-generation platform built on a hybrid microservices architecture running in AWS.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and implement secure end-to-end automation solutions across build, deployment, infrastructure, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on security, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to standardise environments, deployment processes, and engineering practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying systemic inefficiencies, operational risks, and automation opportunities.
  • Support and optimise cloud-native and containerised environments, including Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve complex deployment, infrastructure, and operational issues through root-cause analysis and long-term remediation strategies.
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to align with organisational standards and governance requirements.
  • Establish reusable automation frameworks, templates, and operational best practices across multiple engineering teams.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers across DevOps and platform practices.


About You


You are a technically strong and collaborative engineer with a passion for automation, security, and operational excellence. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and improving engineering outcomes at scale.


Skills & Experience


  • 5+ years’ experience in DevOps, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes/container orchestration platforms.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD tooling and enterprise delivery practices, including Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience supporting microservices-based architectures in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and quality frameworks within automated delivery environments.
  • Development capability in .NET, Java, and/or Python for troubleshooting and collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as:
  • Azure Administrator Associate
  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Experience operating in large enterprise or highly regulated environments.

Important Information


  • Based in Brisbane office - 5 days a week
  • Candidates must be in Brisbane or Greater Brisbane area
  • Only Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian PR will be considered for this role.


This is a significant product which is belong term contract going for multiple years with a possibility in converting to permanent.
