We are an international company parented by MSA with offices in Berlin, Germany; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Cranberry, USA. Our Berlin team spreads over 100 people and 32 nationalities!

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable individual to join us in our agile working environment in Berlin to eliminate work place injuries focusing on industrial and fire services. You can help us continue to shape the future of safety technology – your code could save lives!

The candidate will work with our tech stack on existing and new projects in a cloud capacity using a combination of web technologies & AWS AI Tools.

Our Techstack:

Our techstack consists of various parts using Angular, NodeJS (both using TypeScript), Postgres running on AWS utilising managed services like Lambdas, ECR and Kinesis streams. Our AI product uses AWS Bedrock Converse API, AWS Bedrock AgentCore & Anthropic Claude models. We have a strong focus on automatising and testing using Cypress & Playwright. We cherry pick the best parts of what we like and are always looking to improve and take advantage of the latest technology and methodologies. If you see a better way let’s use it!

Our working methodologies are agile and we organise ourselves using the Product Operating Model.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and implement AI features for our cloud applications with your knowledge of AI & web/application development concentrating on scalability, flexibility, maintainability, and testability
• Improve and maintain existing processes and tools whilst introducing and contributing to new ideas, protocols and products
• The ability to conduct technical feasibility assessments
• Future proofing our existing applications identifying potential technical risks to ensure efficient, high-value delivery
• Optimize our platform for growth, building high-performance, maintainable solutions
• Be part of the decision making and agile process working with internal and external teams
• Be an active part in project-independent efforts to improve the Safety io cloud platform
• Lead in defining and implementing coding standards, best practices, and development processes
• Contribute directly to quarterly OKRs with clear milestones and measurable results

What you bring:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional development experience
• Experience in SaaS products and public facing systems
• Skills that align with and will benefit our tech-stack
• Experience in agile projects
• An ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and explain technical topics to non-tech stakeholders
• Understanding and appreciation of application performance, uptime, and fast root-cause analysis
• A “scale engineering” mindset: An ability to write the integration and build pipes to deploy and monitor your code. Commitment to quality
• Fluency in English (our office language is English)
