Systems Analyst - Galway
Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is seeking a Systems Analyst to play a key role in one of Fidelity’s critical strategic programmes. In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, key drivers, and underlying business requirements. This goes beyond gathering inputs—it’s about understanding the “why” behind them.
You will work closely with your development team and technology partners to translate needs into clear user stories and help deliver high‑quality, innovative, and timely solutions.
We’re looking for a dedicated, curious, and collaborative Systems Analyst with strengths in the following areas:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field, and at least two (2) years’ experience as a Systems Analyst.
The Team
As a Systems Analyst, you will partner with Strategic Advisors business stakeholders, your Product Manager, Product Area Leader, and cross‑functional team members to understand the product vision and challenges. You will then work with your technology counterparts to deliver innovative, cost‑effective, architecturally aligned, and timely solutions.
By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity’s leadership principles and Agile ways of working, you will help sustain and evolve an innovative agile culture.

We’re looking for a dedicated, curious, and collaborative Systems Analyst with strengths in the following areas:
- Supporting your Product Manager in collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and analyse business and functional requirements, using meaningful artefacts such as business requirement documents, process flows, and use cases
- Translating business requirements into user stories and planning these into appropriate sprints
- Identifying and managing risks and dependencies associated with planned work
- Assisting your Product Manager with quarterly planning and backlog management
- Managing product backlogs using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Converting complex business needs into user stories with clear business value and acceptance criteria
- Leading team refinement sessions to ensure stories are ready for sprint planning
- Defining story acceptance tests in collaboration with the team, applying Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) principles
- Taking responsibility for user story sign‑off, ensuring delivery meets requirements and successfully passes automated and manual testing
- Proactively identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
- Participating in end-to-end test activities where required to validate functionality

The Expertise And Skills You Bring
- Financial services industry experience is highly desirable; investment management or wealth management domain knowledge is a plus
- 2+ years’ experience in a Systems Analyst role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering on complex technology projects
- Ability to understand the technology and architecture of an application
- Experience with analysis and testing tools such as SQL Developer, Insomnia, Kafka Offset Explorer, and Datadog
- Experience interpreting an application’s data model and using SQL to query tables for analysis and testing
- Ability to read code for analysis and support purposes is highly desirable
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and their use in systems analysis is desirable
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum, with familiarity of standard ceremonies and artefacts
- Experience working effectively in global, distributed teams across multiple locations
