Back End Web Developer

We are seeking a skilled Back-end Web Developer. This role is crucial in developing reliable and usable website components, modules, and functionality, ensuring a cohesive and engaging web experience.

As a Back-end Web Developer, you will:

• Contribute to the development of robust and well-designed functional capabilities.
• Gather requirements, design and structure data, interfaces, and layouts.
• Develop and deliver functional elements to support desired outcomes and increase engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and analyze requirements for new website features and functionality.
• Identify and evaluate modules to deliver on functional requirements.
• Deploy, configure, and adapt selected modules to deliver desired functionality.
• Design, develop, and test custom modules to support site functions.
• Create components and blocks to support data capture and content delivery.
• Ensure components and modules align with layout practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to support design and layouts.
• Design and manage component libraries for consistent branding across multiple sites.
• Support the development of test plans and test cases for functional testing.
• Support functional and acceptance testing, and resolve identified defects.

Education:

• A three-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Continued education in Information Technology or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:

• At least five years of hands-on experience in designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise-class solutions.
• A minimum of three years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining functional web solutions.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in developing components, blocks, and modules for functional web requirements.
• Extensive experience in designing and developing components that integrate into structured web pages.
• Strong understanding of back-end development languages, including PHP, JS, and JS frameworks.
• Experience in integrating with data sources (API, database calls, local files) for web content.
• Proven coding capabilities supporting defined standards and best practices.
• Proficiency in creating components and interfaces for efficient web content management.
• Experience in development environments with formal quality assurance and code review practices.
• Experience with leading DXP/CMS systems and developing for Drupal 10, Drupal multisite, and Acquia Site Studio is highly desirable.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Experience managing work in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Higher education or public sector experience is highly desirable.
