We are Hiring: Senior Network Engineer

📍 Setúbal, Portugal (Hybrid Model)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a global industrial organization operating across multiple international locations and highly distributed infrastructures.

This role is ideal for a network specialist who combines strong hands-on expertise with architectural vision and enjoys working in complex enterprise environments where connectivity, scalability, security, and operational resilience are critical.

As part of a global infrastructure team, you will contribute to the evolution and standardization of enterprise networking services across corporate offices, industrial facilities, datacenters, and cloud environments. You will also play a key role in strategic transformation initiatives involving SD-WAN, cloud networking, datacenter modernization, and global connectivity expansion.

Your Mission

You will be responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving enterprise network architectures that support global business operations and manufacturing environments. The position requires close collaboration with international IT teams, security stakeholders, external vendors, and infrastructure partners.

This is a highly visible role with strong technical ownership and involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and standardize enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless architectures for global and multi-site environments.

- Develop technical standards, configuration templates, architecture guidelines, and Bills of Materials (BoMs).

- Lead initiatives related to global connectivity services, including site activations, circuit upgrades, migrations, consolidations, and decommissioning activities.

- Support the full lifecycle of network infrastructure across corporate, industrial, and cloud environments.

- Architect isolated and segmented network environments for IoT, OT, innovation labs, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

- Provide governance and technical oversight for enterprise and industrial wireless solutions.

- Review and validate vendor technical designs, implementation plans, and cutover strategies.

- Collaborate with Information Security teams to ensure compliance with security frameworks, audit requirements, and change management processes.

- Contribute to cloud networking strategies and integrations across Azure and AWS environments.

- Produce high-quality technical documentation and executive-level reporting for international stakeholders.

- Act as a technical reference point and Subject Matter Expert for complex network-related projects and escalations.

What We Are Looking For

- Strong experience in Enterprise Network Engineering, Network Architecture, or Infrastructure Engineering within large-scale environments.

- Proven background working in global, multi-region, and high-availability infrastructures.

- Solid expertise in:

- LAN & Switching

- WAN / SD-WAN

- Enterprise & Industrial Wireless

- Datacenter Networking

- Advanced BGP Routing

- Hands-on experience with technologies such as:

- Cisco Nexus & Catalyst

- Cisco Wireless

- Aryaka SD-WAN

- Palo Alto Networks

- F5 LTM

- Zscaler

- Strong cloud networking expertise, including:

- Azure VPN Gateway

- ExpressRoute

- VNET Peering

- AWS Transit Gateway

- Direct Connect Gateway

- VPC Peering

- Experience with advanced troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and packet capture tools such as Wireshark and NetFlow.

- Knowledge of VXLAN EVPN and hybrid datacenter-to-cloud networking architectures is highly valued.

- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or higher are considered a plus.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work in international and cross-functional environments.
