Project Manager – Power Systems & Infrastructure
On behalf of a prestigious international engineering and consultancy firm, Leap29 is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in Power Systems to join their growing team in Oslo.
Our client delivers landmark infrastructure and energy solutions across Europe.
In this role, you will take full ownership of major high voltage transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You will act as the vital bridge between technical engineering teams, grid utility clients, and contractors, ensuring that complex energy infrastructure is delivered safely, sustainably, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary projects from early stage feasibility studies through to final commissioning and handover. Your core duties will include:
- Managing the entire project lifecycle for power system infrastructure projects (substations, cables, and overhead lines), tracking milestones, and delivering to scope.
- Taking full P&L (Profit & Loss) responsibility for your projects, managing budgets, forecasting, and proactively mitigating contract and project risks.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for key clients, including major Norwegian grid operators (e.g., Statnett, regional grid owners) and authorities.
- Leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and sub-contractors, promoting a collaborative and safety first culture.
- Handling procurement, contract negotiations (such as NTK, NS 8401/8402/8407 standards), and variations management.
- Ensuring all project activities adhere to strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and Norwegian regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Power preferred) or Project Management paired with a strong technical background.
- Proven track record (5+ years) as a Project Manager managing complex electrical grid, substation, or power transmission projects.
- Deep familiarity with Norwegian construction/consulting standards (NS codes) and procurement processes in the utility sector.
- Professional fluency (written and spoken) in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish is mandatory for handling local regulations and stakeholder meetings.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Norway as required.
