Position Overview

As our Project Manager, you’ll lead capital projects from early concept through to final completion, ensuring they’re delivered safely, successfully, and to a high standard. You’ll coordinate and foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners, making sure project requirements are met by applying strong fundamentals in scope, budget, schedule, and risk management. From planning and permitting to construction oversight and close‑out, you’ll keep projects moving smoothly while building alignment across engineers, contractors, and community partners. In year 1, you will:
- Build a solid understanding of the Company’s internal processes, standards, policies, and procedures
- Put your expertise and knowledge to work on projects
- Champion and promote the importance of safety
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders
- Schedule and organize resources appropriately
- Learn Fortis PM tools and standards
- Build on your knowledge gained during a project cycle
- Identify, promote and implement continuous enhancements in PMO business practices
- Foster effective teams
- Continue to build and leverage relationships with all stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline from a recognized program plus 4-7 years’ project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset – willingness and ability to obtain designation required.
