Job Title: Employee Relations Specialist
Location: Milton Keynes OR Covent Garden, London (Hybrid)
About The Role
We are hiring an Employee Relations Specialist to join BSI’s People Services team, reporting to the UK Employee Relations Lead.
BSI operates in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment where employment legislation and collective arrangements continue to evolve. This role provides specialist support across employee relations activity in the UK, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-quality case management while contributing to global ER initiatives.
You will play a key role in strengthening compliance, improving the people experience, supporting investigations, and driving continuous improvement across ER processes and frameworks.

About The Role
We are hiring an Employee Relations Specialist to join BSI’s People Services team, reporting to the UK Employee Relations Lead.

This role provides specialist support across employee relations activity in the UK, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-quality case management while contributing to global ER initiatives.
You will play a key role in strengthening compliance, improving the people experience, supporting investigations, and driving continuous improvement across ER processes and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist support across UK employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals, performance matters, reorganisations, and investigations.
- Partner with Investigating Managers to ensure high-quality, consistent case management, documentation, and outcomes.
- Deliver ER education and skills-building interventions to strengthen manager capability.
- Support development and maintenance of ER policies, templates, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and People Operations to ensure consistent application of employment law and best practice.
- Support implementation of the Early Resolution Framework to proactively reduce formal ER cases.
- Monitor and analyse ER case data to identify themes and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to development of training materials and guidance for managers and People teams.
- Support global ER dashboard reporting and wider people plan initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage digital tools and AI to enhance documentation, tracking, and efficiency.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting employee relations case management in a UK-based HR or People function.
- Experience operating within a matrixed or complex organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify themes and drive improvement.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to flex style to different audiences.
- A growth mindset with resilience and agility in driving performance improvement.
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in HR (desirable).
