Security Consultant

Cleared are working with the Cyber, Digital & Data arm of one of the world’s most established defence, aerospace, and security organisations (110,000+ people across 40+ countries).

Their Digital Intelligence division brings together 4,500+ cyber, digital, and intelligence specialists, delivering mission-critical capabilities across government and defence environments. This team is directly supporting programmes such as AUKUS, offering a rare opportunity to work within a global prime on high-impact national security work.

This is a high profile role. they’re looking for a hands-on, highly technical Cyber Security Consultant with strong consultancy capability, particularly within the SOC domain.

Role Summary

• Lead cyber security consulting engagements focused on SOC maturity, security operations, and capability uplift across government environments
• Act as a technical SME and client advisor, shaping security roadmaps, strategy, and implementation across complex ICT systems

Top Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver SOC-focused cyber engagements – from maturity assessments through to capability uplift and roadmap delivery
• Engage directly with stakeholders to design and implement security solutions across people, process, and technology (remaining hands-on technically)
• Drive end-to-end solution delivery – leading teams, managing risk, assuring design quality, and influencing long-term cyber capability

What They’re Looking For (Essential – Top 3)

• Proven experience delivering cyber security solutions, ideally within SOC environments (build, maturity, or operations leadership)
• Strong technical expertise across security tooling and cloud (AWS/Azure, SIEM platforms like Splunk/Sentinel)
• Client-facing consultancy experience, with the ability to advise, shape strategy, and lead engagements with senior stakeholders

This role sits within their Government practice in Canberra, working closely with defence clients. You’ll need a NV1 or NV2 clearance to start. This is a great opportunity to get upgraded to a TSPV clearance.
