Android Developer

We're working with a fast-growing mobility technology company based in Hasselt looking for an experienced Android Developer to join its engineering team.

The company develops sustainable and renewable mobility solutions and is seeking a versatile software engineer with strong Android expertise and a passion for building high-quality mobile applications that deliver real impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain advanced Android applications
• Build modern mobile experiences using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and QA teams
• Contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Support the continuous evolution of the company’s mobility platform and products

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in Android development
• Excellent knowledge of Kotlin
• Solid experience with Jetpack Compose
• Good understanding of Java and experience working with existing Android codebases
• Versatile software engineering background with strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, testing, and scalable application development
• Experience integrating REST APIs and modern mobile architectures
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mobility, transportation, IoT, or connected products
• Knowledge of Clean Architecture, MVVM, or MVI
• Experience with offline-first or real-time mobile applications
• Exposure to cloud platforms or backend technologies
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store
