Freelance Project Manager

For a customer in Antwerp, we are seeking an experienced and driven freelance Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary E&A projects across industrial facilities in the Antwerp region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from concept and design through commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and according to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Electrical and Automation projects throughout the complete project lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk assessments.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian regulations, industry standards, and site safety requirements.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, including electrical, instrumentation, and automation specialists.
• Oversee the design and implementation of LV/MV electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and DCS solutions.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when required.
• Conduct progress meetings and provide regular project status reports to management and clients.
• Support tendering, technical proposals, and project estimation activities.
• Ensure successful commissioning, testing, and project handover.

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience within industrial electrical and automation environments.
• Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, ABB, or similar automation platforms.
• Knowledge of IEC standards and industrial safety regulations.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial control systems.
• Experience working in process industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy, food & beverage, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
