Junior Network Operations Center Engineer

Our client is based in the center of Brussels and is listed on the stock exchange.

The network team is responsible for the setup, security and operations of the network that is used for an extensive range of services in the industrial and office contexts. The team is also involved in many projects (from setup of connectivity in a new data center, securing & connecting to the cloud, modernizing the WAN network, supporting the functional evolutions requested by application teams…).

Responsibilities:

• You will operate in a team supporting the company activities which run 24/7.

• You will operate in an IT and OT environment, and are as such very diligent in preparing and executing changes.

• You will participate in the deployment and maintenance of OT and IT systems.

• You will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the team.

• You analyze and resolve incidents and technical problems.

• You support your colleagues both in BE and other parts of Europe.

Profile:

• You master one of the national languages Dutch or French and are fluent in English.

• You are always ready to work with the other ICT teams.

• You are a teamplayer but also know how to work independently.

• You have your own car.

• You can travel if and when required to one of the Belgian locations.

• Operational firewall knowledge (Palo Alto and Checkpoint).

• Basic understanding of routing and switching (CCNA level).

• Be familiar with Cisco cli.

• You have worked with Python.

• You have already used backend tools for monitoring, NAC, central syslog, authentication.

• Any OT experience is considered a plus.

• A background in computer science will be looked favorably upon.

• You already have had a first relevant working experience.

Offer:

• The start date of this mission is as soon as possible.

• This mission is foreseen for an initial duration of 1 year (renewable).

• The regime the first three months of the mission will be full time in the office. After this initial period hybrid work is possible, and this is in the form of 3 days on-prem, 2 days to choose (under condition the work permits it).
