WE ARE LOOKING FOR Senior Android Build Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer – Build & Tooling to join a new Unikie opportunity focused on Android build optimization. The role focuses on aligning and consolidating Gradle versions to improve build efficiency, reduce complexity, and support a more stable build environment.

This position is ideal for an Android engineer with strong build tools and DevOps experience. A pure DevOps profile is not the primary preference; we are looking for someone who understands Android development and the Android build ecosystem deeply.

Required Qualifications

Senior Android engineering background with strong build tooling experience.
Deep knowledge of the Android build ecosystem.
Hands-on experience with Gradle and Gradle version alignment/consolidation.
Experience with Soong build system.
Familiarity with Bazel, Buck, or similar build tools.
Experience with large-scale local and cloud-based builds.
Strong CI/CD and build optimization experience.
Strong Git skills, including repo tools, submodules, and git-lfs.
Proficient with Linux, Bash, and Python.
Practical DevOps experience from an Android/build engineering perspective.

Nice To Have

GitLab CI experience.
Docker or Podman experience.
Experience tuning builds in constrained cloud environments.
Experience modernizing legacy or script-heavy build pipelines.
Practical DevOps experience from an Android/build engineering perspective.
