Senior Software Developer (TypeScript / AWS / PHP)

💰 €5,500 – €7,500 per month + benefits

An international technology team based in Helsinki is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join their growing engineering function. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern TypeScript and AWS cloud technologies, while also contributing to the maintenance and gradual modernisation of legacy PHP systems.

The Role:

The Senior Developer will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable applications. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product and DevOps, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript (Node.js)
• Design and implement scalable cloud solutions on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, etc.)
• Maintain and refactor legacy PHP applications, supporting modernisation efforts
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices

Requirements:

• Strong experience with TypeScript / JavaScript, particularly on the backend
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience working with or maintaining PHP-based systems
• Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile environment

Nice to Have:

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, AWS CDK)
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks
• Experience in legacy system migration or modernisation projects
