Permitting Manager – Data Centre Development (Finland)

A leading data centre owner-developer is seeking an experienced Permitting Manager to take ownership of regulatory approvals across projects in Finland, with the flexibility to support wider European locations when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for driving all permitting activities from early-stage site selection through to construction readiness. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects progress on programme by securing all necessary approvals efficiently and proactively managing regulatory risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of permitting, including preparation, submission, coordination, and approval tracking
• Engage directly with local authorities, regulators, and external consultants to navigate planning and compliance requirements
• Provide early-stage input to development and acquisition teams, identifying risks and advising on feasibility
• Oversee zoning, environmental, demolition, building, and operational permits, as well as infrastructure crossing approvals
• Maintain clear permitting schedules aligned with project timelines across multiple live developments
• Act as the central point of contact for permitting matters across internal project stakeholders

Requirements

• Fluency in both Finnish and English is essential
• Approximately 10+ years’ experience within permitting, planning, or regulatory approvals
• Strong background in data centre, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects
• Solid understanding of Finnish planning frameworks and environmental regulations
• Degree in construction, engineering, land management, or a related discipline
