Azelis Nordics is looking for a Product Manager, Chemicals in Tampere, Finland to further support our disruption of the industry – if you’re up for the challenge, you’ve come to the right place! Our Chemicals team handles various sub-segments such as Performance Chemicals, Essential & Fine Chemicals, CASE, and Homecare & Industrial Cleaning.
The mission
Our new Product Manager will support the mission of managing a specific product portfolio within the Chemicals market segment (e.g. coatings, construction, chemical manufacturing, water treatment and processing industries) to meet principal targets, product gross margin and working capital targets, by contributing to and implementing the Business Strategy.

The mission
Our new Product Manager will support the mission of managing a specific product portfolio within the Chemicals market segment (e.g. coatings, construction, chemical manufacturing, water treatment and processing industries) to meet principal targets, product gross margin and working capital targets, by contributing to and implementing the Business Strategy.
Main Accountabilities Of The Role
- Implement the business strategies to ensure long-term interests of the businesses are protected
- Set direction for Sales price ranges for the Sales Managers and Internal Sales Reps
- Optimize purchase prices by negotiating with principals
- Analyse and understand the strategy of principals in your portfolio to elaborate a marketing plan (market/product – client/market – client/product segments)
- Maintain and develop relationships with Principals to retain existing business and gain new business
- Act as technical support for the commercial teams (synthesize the information obtained from principals to cascade it to the commercial teams)
- Prepare the necessary arguments for the commercialisation of the products to improve the impact on the sales force on the field and generate more projects
- For Principals not covered by group contracts, negotiate and secure contracts to ensure long-term security of supply
- Monitor, report and act on market and competitor activities to ensure that product strategies reflect current market activity
- Monitor principal targets and define corrective actions
- Responsible for reporting to principals
- Update and maintain timely product data, pricing and documentation in the systems
Professional Experience
We’re looking for a colleague with a proven success record within Chemicals who excels within the below experience and skills:
- Sound commercial experience in product management or technical/commercial roles within chemical applications (app. 5 years of experience)
- Strong understanding of the Nordic Chemicals markets and their value chains
- Experience working cross-functionally in an international or matrix organization
- Bachelor’s degree within chemical engineering or equivalent is a plus but relevant experience is equally valued – it’s important you understand the technicalities of the market
- Excellent communication skills whether it’s communication with your internal or external stakeholders –fluent English is required, and Finnish, Danish and/or Swedish are a plus

- You’re a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who also appreciates feedback and teamwork
