About Biomemory

Global data creation is exploding. Only 30% of the world’s data is durably stored. Data centers already consume around 2% of global electricity. As volumes double every few years, the silicon-based storage model is reaching structural limits.

Biomemory is a global pioneer in the DNA data storage market. Biomemory develops IT-friendly DNA Data Storage and cybersecurity solutions engineered for data center environments.

Our interoperable, modular architecture combines biosecure DNA media, industrialized end-to-end write/store/read processes, and interoperable IT interface to create a new storage tier optimized for density, longevity and operational efficiency.

Headquartered in Paris, with offices in Boston US, Biomemory aims to serve the fast-growing international cold storage market.

Join us in rewriting the future of data storage! 🧬

About the Job

As a Full Stack Web Engineer, your primary objective will be to design, build, and maintain a web application, with dashboards, and APIs that allow users and partners to seamlessly interact with Biomemory’s revolutionary DNA data storage platform.

Your focus will be on delivering a flawless, highly secure, and ergonomic user experience across the full web stack. This involves bridging the gap between our core backend services and the end-user through robust APIs and intuitive interfaces.

The role will require:

● Strong expertise in modern web ecosystems (Front and Back).

● A sharp eye for UI/UX ergonomics and frontend craftsmanship.

● A deep commitment to information security and data privacy.

📍The position is based in Paris and requires onsite presence to ensure effective communication and collaboration with the engineering and product teams. Some remote work is possible.

About the Tech

You will be responsible for building the web-facing layer of Biomemory.

Here is the core stack you will use on a daily basis:

  • Frontend: JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML5, modern CSS, and the standard tooling ecosystem;
  • Backend: Go, OpenAPI for API design and documentation;
  • Security & Network: Deep understanding of HTTPS, TLS/SSL, encryption mechanisms, DNS, and domain name management;
  • Versioning & CI/CD: GitLab;
  • Web design: Figma;
  • Database: PostgreSQL;
  • Nice to have: Docker, shadcn, Linux, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf,

These technologies are provided as our current baseline. We are looking for people who understand the underlying concepts rather than just the frameworks.

About You

You are an experienced professional who loves building fluid web interfaces and solid APIs. You care deeply about how users interact with your software and how data is secured in transit and at rest. More than anything, you want to build elegant web solutions for cutting-edge technologies.

You recognize yourself, or your future self in the following:

  • Web Enthusiast. You understand the modern web from the browser's rendering engine down to the backend server via DOM tree. Building fast, responsive, and accessible applications is your second nature.
  • Ergonomics & UI/UX Sensitive. You don't just implement mockups; you care about the user journey. You know how to create intuitive interfaces and you pay attention to the details that make a UI great.
  • Full Stack Agile. You are perfectly comfortable switching contexts between crafting a React component, writing a Go API endpoint, and configuring an OpenAPI spec. ● Secure by design. You have strong knowledge of Information Security (InfoSec). You master encryption standards, session management, and HTTPS. When you hear crypto, you think of cryptography, not cryptocurrencies.
  • Network Aware. You understand how the internet works under the hood. DNS records, domain management, routing, and HTTP protocol specificities hold no secrets for you.
  • Organized & Developer. You program on a regular basis with a focus on clean code. You are aware of best development practices (design patterns, source code management, testing, documentation, CI/CD).
  • Communicative. You are interested in discovering and sharing new frontend and backend web technologies in both French and English.

It's OK if you don't tick all the boxes. We are building a team with various levels of experience, so if you're talented, highly motivated, and care about web craftsmanship, we’d still like to hear from you.

And if you...

  • Are an open-source maintainer or a regular contributor to web ecosystems;
  • Care deeply about web performance and accessibility;
  • Host and secure your own web services for fun.

... then you definitely should consider applying. 🚀
