Rate : €490 per day

My client is looking for an experienced Technical Team Lead / Lead Java Developer to support the delivery of enterprise application development projects within a large-scale ICT environment.
This role would suit someone with strong hands-on Java development experience, combined with proven technical leadership, solution design, estimation, governance support, and team mentoring experience.

You will be responsible for analysing business requirements, designing effective technical solutions, developing new applications and enhancements, and leading delivery across a team of developers.
The role requires someone who can operate across both technical and project delivery responsibilities, including design, coding, testing, release planning, governance reporting, risk management, and mentoring junior and intermediate team members.

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into clear technical designs and solution approaches.
• Design solutions using the most appropriate mix of technologies to meet business and technical needs.
• Produce high-level and detailed estimates for governance, planning, and delivery purposes.
• Develop new applications and enhancements in line with agreed technical standards.
• Carry out code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, and delivery standards are met.
• Define and support integration testing, system testing, and automation testing where required.
• Mentor junior developers and guide intermediate developers across assigned work.
• Manage tasks across the technical team and support delivery against agreed plans.
• Plan and coordinate releases, including system test and live deployment activity.
• Support project governance, status reporting, resource planning, and progress tracking.
• Identify, manage, and report technical risks, issues, incidents, and root causes.
• Recommend permanent fixes, workarounds, and improvements where required.
• Work closely with business users, technical teams, testers, and project stakeholders.
  
  

• 10+ years' ICT delivery experience.
• 3-4 years' experience as a Technical Team Lead or similar.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring and SQL.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, databases, and structured data formats.
• Experience working with RDBMS, XML, JSON, and text files.
• Strong solution design and technical analysis skills.
• Experience producing estimates for project planning and governance.
• Strong SDLC knowledge, particularly Waterfall delivery.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in large hybrid teams.
