Job Title: IP Network Engineer

Location: Dublin (Onsite – 5 days per week at customer office)

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Core Network Engineering Manager, this role focuses on IP technologies within a service provider environment. The position is primarily centered on network build activities and core migrations, with occasional involvement in operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and managing architectural changes across the customer’s Core IP network.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and implement configuration changes for MPLS networks

Plan and deliver physical interconnects and service migrations

Execute IP transit implementations and migration activities

Collaborate with IP architects to shape the future Core IP network design

Stay up to date with emerging networking technologies and industry trends

Develop and test bespoke services in a lab environment, including scripting and templating for scalable deployment

Perform hardware and software upgrades and migrations within maintenance windows, following change management processes

Configure, support, and maintain core network devices (P, PE, BNG routers, and aggregation switches)

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues under tight timelines, prioritizing effectively

Escalate advanced faults to vendor TAC teams and support issue resolution, including lab-based replication when required

Ensure smooth handover of new services from Service Delivery to Operations, adhering to defined processes

Manage IPv4 and IPv6 addressing requirements

Requirements:

Strong experience with MPLS and core IP networking in a service provider environment

Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Experience with network migrations, upgrades, and large-scale deployments

Familiarity with scripting and automation tools is an advantage

Solid understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and management
