Senior Java Developer

Ortho Baltic is one of Europe’s leading orthopedic device manufacturers, combining 3D digitalization, computer modelling, additive manufacturing, and medical innovation to create personalized solutions for patients.

We are expanding our IT R&D team and looking for a Senior Java Developer to help modernize and evolve our core production management platform.

This is not an outsourcing role and not a short-term client project.

The software you build will be used every day in live production and will directly impact how personalized orthopedic footwear and medical devices are manufactured.

What you'll be working on

Our flagship platform, Dispatch 2, manages:

✔ Order processing

✔ Production planning

✔ Manufacturing workflows

✔ ERP integrations

✔ Business-critical data flows

Dispatch 2 is a large-scale Java-based platform with a microservices architecture and years of accumulated business logic. We are currently focused on:

·        Modernizing the technology stack

·        Reducing technical debt

·        Improving architecture and maintainability

·        Expanding integrations

·        Strengthening data quality and system reliability

·        Building a foundation for future AI and automation initiatives

Technology Stack

Java • Spring Boot • Spring Cloud • PostgreSQL • REST APIs • OAuth2 / JWT • LDAP • Docker • Jenkins • Git • AngularJS (legacy) • Microservices

We are looking for someone who

✅ Has 5+ years of professional Java development experience

✅ Has strong experience with the Spring ecosystem

✅ Understands microservice architectures

✅ Is comfortable working with legacy systems and technical debt

✅ Can analyze complex systems and propose practical technical solutions

✅ Enjoys improving architecture rather than only building new features

Nice to Have

➕ Experience with ERP, MES, or manufacturing systems

➕ JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or AngularJS

➕ Docker, Linux, or DevOps practices

➕ Experience modernizing legacy platforms

➕ Interest in AI, automation, data engineering, or 3D technologies

➕ Experience with three.js, WebGL, or other 3D technologies
