It’s always Day One at Amazon and today is no different with our last mile transportation network. We view transportation as a critical element to delivering the promise to customers from the moment they click buy on Amazon to the time their package arrives on their doorstep. Optimizing the last mile network - designing the number, size, and locations of delivery stations, and the jurisdiction of each delivery station – enables our portfolio of innovative, fast, and reliable delivery services for customers across Europe. The last-mile long-term planning team owns and produces the strategic plan of a planning horizon of 13 weeks to 5+ years for the EU Amazon Logistics. We generate business insights for the EU leadership team to make strategic decisions, by surfacing the risks and opportunities of each plan we produce, detailing why and how plans vary, and providing scenarios analyses.
We are looking for an experienced analyst to join the EU long-term planning team. As an analyst, you will develop multi-year operating and capital plans for delivery station selection and build-outs, work with S&OP and labor planning team to track the progress of multi-year plans to build feedback mechanism to improve planning accuracy. You will lead continuous improvement projects for our planning process as well as building and prioritizing feature requirements for further development of advanced optimization, forecasting, and machine-learning models to solve business problems in the transportation domains. Your role is highly visible, as you will be in constant communications with operations senior leaders (up to VP and directors level) in Amazon Logistics, as well as in Global Transportation Services in Amazon.
Supply chain or business planning, cross-team coordination, project management, executive presentation skills, and proven record of accomplishment of delivering results are essential. Finally, you will own documenting and presenting to all levels of operations leadership up to VP the network plans, risks and contingencies on a regular basis.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors in Science or Engineering subject; or taken graduate level (or equivalent) courses in business statistics, finance or similar subjects that involved complex data analytics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, able to explain complex concepts with clarity and precision
- Masters or higher degree in Economics, Econometrics, System Engineering or equivalent
- Speak multiple European languages in addition to English
- Understanding of Operations Research, machine learning modeling and other forecasting techniques
- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
- Possesses SQL and Python skills
