We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer for our client, a leading global reinsurance group. The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering and analytics skills with a solid understanding of business processes and metrics.
Job Summary
As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will design and develop trusted analytical datasets and data products that support reporting, analytics, and decision-making within your assigned business domain.
You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand key processes, KPIs, and reporting needs, translating them into scalable data models, standardized metrics, and high-quality datasets.
Working at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, you will contribute to data modeling, transformation, quality, governance, and the delivery of reliable data products on modern enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain analytics-ready datasets that support reporting, dashboards, and decision-making within the assigned business domain;
- Translate business concepts, processes, and requirements into scalable analytical data models, dataset structures, and reusable metrics;
- Ensure high levels of data quality, traceability, consistency, and documentation, including business definitions, assumptions, lineage, and limitations;
- Partner closely with business stakeholders (e.g., actuarial, finance, underwriting, performance management teams) to understand analytical requirements and deliver impactful data solutions;
- Apply and contribute to data governance standards and best practices in collaboration with data governance and platform teams;
- Promote adoption of analytical datasets by ensuring they are discoverable, understandable, and suitable for self-service analytics;
- Collaborate with Data Platform, Analytics, and AI teams to align on architecture, tooling, standards, and delivery approaches;
- Support the continuous improvement of analytical data products and reporting capabilities across the organization.
Required Experience & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Experience delivering analytics-ready datasets in complex environments;
- Strong understanding of Insurance or Finance business processes and KPIs;
- Advanced SQL skills; Python and/or PySpark are a plus;
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or similar;
- Knowledge of analytical data modeling, data quality, and governance principles.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams;
- Analytical mindset, structured thinking, and ownership;
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international environments.
Languages
- Fluent English;
- French is an advantage.
Education
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
