Software Engineer/ Senior Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a senior frontend engineer with deep experience in payment flows and enterprise applications. In this role, you will take full ownership of complex features from design to production, set the technical standard for the team, and help build a scalable and secure frontend platform in one of the most demanding domains in digital commerce.

You will work in a modern stack with Next.js, React and TypeScript, lead architectural decisions and act as a natural mentor for other engineers. You are comfortable stepping into the BFF layer or Node.js services when needed, and you understand that robust frontend in payment environments requires as much security thinking as technical skill.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of complex frontend features from requirements to production
• Design scalable, maintainable architecture (modularisation, code splitting, performance)
• Lead state management strategy (Redux, Zustand, React Query) and ensure predictable data flow
• Build and integrate with APIs and BFF layers; contribute to Node.js services where needed
• Deliver accessible, responsive UIs (WCAG-compliant, semantic HTML, CSS)
• Drive performance optimisation, rendering, bundle size, network usage, caching
• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices across the codebase
• Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers
• Embed security best practices into development, particularly around payment flows and authentication
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e)
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver iteratively

Qualifications

• Strong experience in the payments domain, particularly checkout flows
• Deep expertise in Next.js, React and TypeScript
• Experience with backend development or debugging against backend services
• Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Self-driven with the ability to lead technical initiatives and raise the bar for the team

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale enterprise applications
• Familiarity with observability tools and structured production debugging
• Experience with security work in regulated environments (PCI-DSS, authentication flows, data protection)
