Job Title : Freelance Machine Learning Engineer

Freelance: 6 Months

Contract Type: Freelance / ZZP

We’re looking for a talented Machine Learning Engineer support our data driven projects on a freelance basis for six months. In this role, you’ll work on creating intelligent, automated systems to address large-scale challenges. This opportunity goes beyond just building models—you’ll be responsible for productionizing your solutions alongside the wide variety of machine learning models already in use.

You’ll collaborate closely with business leads and fellow machine learning engineers to identify and solve key problems using cutting-edge machine learning techniques. From improving models that predict demand at the article level to refining real-time fraud detection systems, your work will have a direct impact.

🎯 What You’ll Do -

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll contribute to a variety of projects, including:

• Forecasting demand: Predicting volumes and article-level demand for system-wide use.
• Fraud and outlier detection: Strengthening fraud prevention mechanisms while minimizing false positives.
• Recommendation systems: Creating personalized, useful suggestions for product users.
• Search and ranking: Enhancing customer experiences to find exactly what they need.
• Delivery time prediction: Optimizing schedules for on-time performance.

💻 Technologies We Use -

• Programming languages: Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, FastAPI, or custom-built solutions).
• Cloud: GCP (Google Cloud Platform) however any major cloud platform experience is appreciated.
• Databases: SQL (Snowflake, PostgreSQL).
• Version control and deployment: Git, Kubernetes, Docker.

⭐ Key Requirements -

• Proven experience maintaining production-level ML solutions, with strong ML principles.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share knowledge with business stakeholders and the wider data science team.
• Comfortable taking initiative, working independently, and taking full responsibility for your work.
• Commitment to quality, performance, and efficiency in all work.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI tools is a plus.
