As Lead Product Designer in the Worldline Design team, you will be a driving force behind design quality, strategic direction, and team development. You will lead by example — setting the bar for craft and user advocacy — while coaching and mentoring fellow designers to grow their skills and confidence. Your mission is to connect business strategy with user needs, translating complex product challenges into coherent, intuitive experiences across our portfolio. You will work closely with product management, engineering leads, and senior stakeholders to ensure design has a strong voice at the table, and you will help shape the practices and culture of our design organisation.


This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden.


Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Lead the design direction for key product areas, ensuring a coherent and high-quality user experience across complex payment solutions.
  • Mentor and coach product designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, craft excellence, and constructive, supportive design critique.
  • Partner with product managers, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to define product strategy and roadmaps, ensuring user needs are represented from the start.
  • Guide design projects from discovery through delivery — setting direction, navigating trade-offs thoughtfully, and ensuring design intent is preserved in implementation.
  • Facilitate design workshops, design sprints, and cross-team alignment sessions that bring out the best thinking in everyone involved.
  • Collaborate with our Design System experts to champion consistency, scalability, and quality across products.
  • Raise the bar on user research integration — ensuring designs are grounded in evidence and validated with real users.
  • Actively explore opportunities for our business and the field of UX with generative and Agentic AI.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring strategic perspective on how emerging patterns and technologies can elevate our products.
  • Contribute to the growth and culture of the Worldline Design team — championing an inclusive, supportive environment where diverse perspectives make the work stronger.


Who are we looking for

We look for talented, thoughtful design leaders who care about their craft and the people around them. People who bring fresh perspectives, step up and show what's next — optimistic, upbeat people with a can-do attitude, a hunger to learn and grow, and a genuine love for collaboration. In practice this means:

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a lead, senior, or principal design role where you have guided other designers.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design leadership across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop designers, providing thoughtful, actionable feedback and fostering professional growth and confidence.
  • Experience partnering with product management and engineering at a strategic level to shape product direction.
  • Sophisticated skills in Figma and other design tools, with the ability to establish and promote best practices within a team.
  • Strong understanding of user research methodologies and the ability to integrate insights into the design process at the right moments.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and articulate design rationale clearly.
  • Deep empathy for users and a passion for representing their needs and motivations — even when business pressures push in other directions.
  • A systems-thinking mindset, comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and trade-offs across a broad product portfolio.
  • An optimistic, collaborative personality — you lead with warmth, value diverse perspectives, lift others up, and believe the best work happens when people support each other.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS and/or the Payments sector is a nice-to-have — exceptional design leadership is what matters most, and industry knowledge you'll pick up on the job.
  • You have an online portfolio showcasing your work and design leadership, which you can share upon application.
  • You are available to work full time.
