Embedded Software Engineer

Karluna Engineering was founded in 2022 in İzmir and specializes in electric vehicle production. Karluna Engineering will begin production of L7E class light commercial vehicles in İzmir/Aliağa at the beginning of 2025.

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in C programming and bare-metal development to join our innovative team in the automotive sector. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team working on high-performance electric vehicle projects.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Design systems in compliance with automotive standards.
• Collaborate closely with the hardware team to select the CPU and define the hardware architecture.
• Design and implement software architecture in a bare-metal development environment.
• Develop software in compliance with automotive protocols (CAN, J1939, CANopen).
• Create algorithms and protocol layers for real-time systems.
• Test and debug the developed software and provide field support as needed.
• Perform hardware integration and coordinate with hardware design engineers.
• Provide software support in the field throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Communication Engineering (Master's degree is a plus).
• 3+ years of experience in C programming with a focus on bare-metal development.
• Experience with CAN protocols (especially J1939 and CANopen).
• Proficiency in communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and RS-232/422/485.
• Experience in developing and debugging real-time systems (without RTOS).
• Familiarity with automotive standards and safety regulations (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
• Experience with version control systems, particularly GIT.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation and strong technical communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
