We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a new team building a cloud-based SaaS bioinformatics platform.

The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS infrastructure, with strong ownership of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, platform reliability, monitoring, incident management, and compliance in a regulated environment.

Technology scope:

Cloud services: AWS AD, LDAP, EC2, ASG, ECS, Lambda, MQ, RDS, S3, VPC, subnets, security groups, AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS OpenSearch, AWS Bedrock

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform

Operating systems: Linux

Automation and containers: Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Jenkins pipelines, Azure DevOps pipelines

Networking: Security, proxy, load balancing, OpenVPN

Observability and monitoring: Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, ELK stack

Nice to have: Apache Spark, OpenSearch, Solr, Iceberg, JupyterHub

Standards and practices:

Security best practices, performance optimization, and high availability principles
Strong expertise in GDPR/HIPAA and data privacy principles

Key requirements:

5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform
Solid Linux administration skills
Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Jenkins, and networking
Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident management
