Senior Python Engineer - Robotics / Autonomous Systems
We are hiring several Senior Python Engineers to join a fast-growing company operating at the forefront of robotics and autonomous systems. These are foundational engineering roles focused on building the internal platforms, tools, and systems that enable the wider organisation to move faster, safer, and with confidence.
This is not a support function. The work is high-impact and directly influences how products are developed, tested, and deployed.
These are permanent positions, working predominantly onsite in Oslo, Norway.
Please note, you must hold EU citizenship and have the legal right to work with controlled technologies under relevant laws to be considered for this role.
What you’ll be doing
You will spend the majority of your time writing and improving production-quality code, contributing across automation, tooling, and supporting infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing robust Python systems used across engineering workflows
- Building end-to-end test frameworks, including hardware-in-the-loop setups
- Designing scalable, maintainable systems that improve reliability and engineering standards
- Working closely with real products and real-world system behaviour
- Driving improvements in code quality, testing, and deployment practices
Essential requirements
- 3 to 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Professional experience with Python, or strong experience in another language with a clear motivation to work in Python
- Comfortable working in Linux-based environments
- A quality-first mindset with a focus on building reliable, scalable systems
- Experience in backend systems or distributed environments
Additional experience that would be beneficial:
- CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or similar infrastructure tooling
- Hardware-adjacent development, HIL testing, or test automation
- Background in machine learning with solid backend engineering foundations
