The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior DevOps and Automation Architect to lead the design, evolution, and governance of Core42’s software delivery platforms and cloud infrastructure.

This is a strategic and highly technical leadership role focused on enabling scalable, secure, and efficient software delivery across the organization. You will define architectural standards for CI/CD, platform engineering, observability, automation, and cloud-native operations while driving DevOps best practices across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Architecture & Platform Strategy

• Architect and govern end-to-end software delivery platforms including CI/CD, container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, and developer self-service capabilities
• Define architectural standards, deployment patterns, and operational best practices across engineering environments
• Lead the DevOps maturity roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives

Infrastructure & Automation

• Design and manage Infrastructure as Code frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, and related automation tooling
• Drive adoption of GitOps, platform engineering, and modern automation methodologies
• Improve deployment velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency through automation and standardization

CI/CD & Release Engineering

• Establish engineering standards for branching strategies, release management, environment management, and deployment pipelines
• Optimize CI/CD workflows to improve developer experience and delivery performance
• Support scalable and secure release engineering practices

Observability & Reliability

• Architect observability platforms covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting
• Define incident response and operational readiness practices to support high platform reliability
• Improve detection, troubleshooting, and recovery capabilities across environments

Security & Compliance

• Embed security and compliance into the software delivery lifecycle through automated controls and policy enforcement
• Implement secrets management, vulnerability scanning, compliance-as-code, and zero-trust principles
• Support alignment with enterprise compliance and governance standards

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership, infrastructure, security, and product teams
• Lead architecture reviews, governance discussions, and strategic technology initiatives
• Document architecture decisions and promote DevOps best practices across the organization
• Mentor engineers and support capability development across platform and DevOps teams

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering environments, including 3+ years in an architect-level role
• Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, and container ecosystems
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments such as Azure and AWS
• Advanced experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI/CD or equivalent)
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Golang, Bash, or similar
• Experience designing observability solutions across metrics, logging, tracing, and monitoring platforms
• Strong understanding of networking, databases, middleware, messaging systems, and security architecture

Preferred

• Professional cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or related technologies)
• Experience with GitOps, platform engineering, FinOps, and Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO, SOC2, or similar standards
• Experience driving DevOps transformation initiatives across enterprise environments
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical mentoring capabilities
