Lead, UX & Design

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Define and own the UX and design vision, standards, design system and processes across digital products and platforms.

• Lead, mentor and develop a blended team of internal designers and external design / agency partners, managing workload and quality across both.

• Manage external design partners / agencies. Defining scope and SLAs, onboarding, quality oversight and commercial performance – integrated with the internal team.

• Drive end-to-end product design: discovery, user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping and high-fidelity UI.

• Establish and maintain a scalable design system and UI component library to ensure consistency and speed to market.

• Champion user-centred design and accessibility (WCAG) across the product lifecycle.

• Leverage AI / GenAI to make design better and faster. Inc. AI-assisted ideation, rapid prototyping, generative UI, and research / content synthesis.

• Plan and run usability testing and translate research insights into design decisions and measurable UX improvements.

• Partner with product, engineering and business stakeholders to align design with strategy and delivery.

Key objectives

:1. Establish a unified design system and UX standards / governance across all digital transformation initiatives within the first 6–9 months

.2. Embed AI / GenAI design tooling and a research-driven design practice to accelerate delivery and improve usability metrics on priority products

.3. Build and uplift the design team’s capability (internal and partners) and demonstrate measurable improvement in key UX metrics (e.g. task success, satisfaction, conversion) year-on-year

Qualifications, certifications, technical & soft skill

s:• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design or a related field (or an equivalent professional portfolio

).• 6+ years in UX / product design, including 3+ years leading / managing a design tea

m.• Strong portfolio across end-to-end UX: research, information architecture, interaction design and polished U

I.• Expertise with modern design tooling (Figma, prototyping tools) and building / maintaining design system

s.• Experience embedding accessibility (WCAG) and usability testing into the design proces

s.• Experience leading a blended delivery model – managing both internal designers and external design / agency partner

s.• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skill
