Job Title: Data Scientist - Financial Crime - 6-month contract

Client: Leading Banking Institution

Position Overview:

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets to derive actionable insights that will enhance our client's financial crime systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models, optimize processes, and support data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

- Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to support business objectives.

- Collaborate with IT, operations, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.

- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

- Continuously improve data collection and analysis processes to enhance data quality and relevance.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in data science and banking.

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Data Scientist in financial crime

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and machine learning frameworks.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance is a plus.
