ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate brings solid practical experience across Windows Server environments, cloud infrastructure, physical data centre operations, surveillance systems, and storage — and is equally comfortable drafting a policy document as they are pulling a cable through a server rack. This is a key infrastructure role requiring both technical depth and an ownership mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Windows Server Administration
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments
• Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and WSUS
• Administer Microsoft 365 / Azure AD hybrid environments
• Monitor server performance, event logs, and ensure uptime SLAs are met
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Patch management, scheduled maintenance windows, and OS hardening
2. Backup Management & Disaster Recovery
• Design, implement, and maintain backup policies using tools such as Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent
• Manage full, incremental, and differential backup schedules across physical and virtual systems
• Test and validate restore procedures on a regular basis — ensuring RTO/RPO targets are met
• Maintain offsite/cloud backup copies and ensure encryption compliance
• Document DR plans and lead or support annual DR drills
3. Server Rack & Data Centre Management
• Physical installation, labelling, and management of servers, switches, patch panels, and PDUs in racks
• Maintain cable management standards — structured cabling (Cat6/6A/Fibre), proper labelling, and documentation
• Monitor temperature, power draw, and cooling in the server room/DC
• Manage hardware lifecycle including procurement support, asset tagging, and decommissioning
• Maintain accurate rack diagrams and infrastructure documentation
4. Cloud & VPS Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, and Others)
• Provision and manage cloud instances (EC2, VMs, Lightsail, or equivalent VPS environments)
• Configure security groups, IAM roles, VPCs, subnets, and firewall rules on AWS / Azure
• Manage cloud-hosted services including web servers, databases, and application environments
• Monitor cloud resource utilisation and perform right-sizing / cost optimisation
• Manage DNS zones via Route 53, Cloudflare, or similar platforms
• Support hybrid cloud connectivity (Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect)
• Maintain cloud documentation and enforce tagging standards and naming conventions
5. NAS (Network Attached Storage) Management
• Configure and maintain NAS solutions (Synology, QNAP, or enterprise-grade equivalents)
• Manage RAID configurations, storage pools, shared folders, and volume snapshots
• Set up user/group access permissions and integrate NAS with Active Directory
• Monitor disk health, capacity trends, and generate storage utilisation reports
• Configure replication tasks and sync jobs for redundancy
6. Network Camera, NVR & Surveillance Systems
• Deploy and maintain IP cameras (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, or similar) and NVR/DVR systems
• Configure camera layouts, motion zones, schedules, and video retention policies
• Manage remote access to surveillance feeds with appropriate access controls
• Troubleshoot connectivity, image quality, and recording issues
• Coordinate with physical security teams for installations and expansions
7. Network Infrastructure & General IT
• Configure and manage switches (managed L2/L3), routers, and access points (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Meraki, etc.)
• Set up and manage VLANs, QoS policies, and inter-VLAN routing
• Maintain and monitor firewalls (FortiGate, pfSense, Sophos, or similar)
• Manage VPN solutions — SSL VPN, IPSec, and remote access configurations
• Monitor network traffic using tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or Nagios
• Respond to and resolve network outages, slowdowns, and connectivity issues — including after-hours if required
